EZ Combs™ I think I love you

42 VIPs have spoken »

Last night, as I was winding down, I thought I might be able to catch a Forensic Files marathon on TruTV. Negative. Instead it was a marathon of Speeders. Oy vey. But I watched anyway because I was looking for some mindless drivel.

Now within the drivel there was one golden nugget and that was the EZ Combs™ infomercial.

I believe I must have this item. I certainly want it.

But I am leery of mail order stuff. Yes, I can return it but I have to pay shipping twice. Shipping and handling from EZ Combs™ is $6.99.

The actual combs — which come in two colors, the popular Caramel Bronze and the Dazzling Silver — cost $10.00. But right now you can receive a bonus comb in Black for free. And the EZ Combs™ Styling DVD for free!

Simple math will tell you, if I don’t love the EZ Combs™ I am out $13.98 by the time I ship them back. Strike that, if I’m sending them back I’m sending them on a slow boat — the cheapest method which might be $4.00 making the total to send them back roughly $9.98. So I’m still spending $10.00 if I don’t like them.

But just look at that dazzling brilliance.

ez-comb.jpg, Ez combs, ez combs hairstyles, ez combs video, ez combs review, ez combs guide, ez combs styles, ez combs instructions, ez combs how to, ez combs manufacturers, sarah palin hair, elastic hair comb, claw clip

The men in the house may not understand why this hair accessory is so unique and appealing. To create my updo — which shall not be confused with my trademarked ponytail — I must use a large claw clip. Like the infomercial clearly illustrates, when wearing a claw clip, you cannot comfortably rest your head on the head rest in the car, against the back of an easy chair or lying down in bed. It’s very annoying.

For the uninitiated I present an illustration of the claw clip.

claw-clip.jpg

It clips vertically into your hair, just as it is pictured. And it extends about 1.5 inches away from your scalp. Hence the problem with resting your head against any flat surface. I know. In the past, I have turned my head when resting it against anything. That’s a drag.

I choose to live in a society where hair accessories allow function as well as fashion — in three dazzling color choices, to boot.

This is the exact point in the infomercial when I fell in love with the EZ Combs™. They eliminate that problem! I can indeed live in my Utopian society where function meets fashion on the back of my noggin. The secret is “the 10 durable bungees that stretch and hold your hair.”

My heart is jumping for joy. But reality is harshing my mellow.

Are the bungees really durable? I have thick unruly hair. I routinely break rubber bands and shatter barrettes. My hair is the Incredible Hulk of follicles — don’t even think about making it mad.

So I send this impassioned plea to TeleBrands, the maker of EZ Combs™. Really I am appealing to AJ Khubani, founder, president and CEO of Telebrands.

Please send me the EZ Combs™ to review.

I’m not even asking for all three and the DVD. I’ll gladly take one — the color you choose — and I will put it through vigorous, real-world testing. As my name implies, I spend a lot of time exercising both on the elliptical machine and lifting weights. A few of the weight machines have head rests which would allow me to test the skull-flat-against-a-vertical-surface theory.

If you send a courtesy EZ Comb I will give you a free, impartial and fair, review of the product. I believe this partnership will be beneficial to both of us. If you don’t believe me check out my love of the Tweeze.
I continue to sing the praises of the Tweeze, and yet they have never sent me anything for free.

Which means if you wait long enough Mr. Khubani, I’ll probably order the EZ Combs™, pay for the product including shipping and handling and love the combs. Then I’ll probably rave about the combs incessantly on my site.

I think, after I rave for a while, my post will come up under a Google search and many women will see that I have tested the combs for the masses. And maybe your sales may increase.

I would think a mere three orders generated from my reviews would pay for the comb(s) you potentially send me to review.

The choice is yours. But I really, really want one of those EZ Combs™. Please may I have one supplied gratis?

Addendum: I did receive the combs less than two weeks later. You can read my EZ Combs™ review here, but I’ll tell you right now that I truly love them.

  • Solomon says:

Wait a few weeks and a cheaper alternative will appear on shop shelves everywhere.

Oh Solomon. What’s the fun in that?

  • Natural says:

well heck, they should send you a clip on this post alone. as a matter of fact, can you email it to them? i still have that brush that straightens your hair in my favorites that i have not ordered…my daughter has hulk hair and i imagine her hair laughing at an attempt to be straightened into submission.

try tweeting your request. lots of companies are on twitter now listening for chatter about their company, hey you never know.

    have a good ’09!

(hangs head a tad embarrassed) I did email them with my plea and a link to my post. I realize it is New Year’s Day but I am still hopeful that the people I emailed are workaholics and they will see my email and my post today and send the clips post haste.

Now I’m off to Twitter this. Thanks for the suggestion, Natural. I would have never considered tweeting as an option.

  • Lin says:

Hey, maybe somebody who hates theirs who doesn’t want to spend the bucks to return it will sell theirs to you! Well, it’s a thought anyway. What if they only want the Dazzling Silver and not the black one? There you go! You could pay them the shipping and it would be yours. Now you just have to find someone in that situation. Well–I didn’t say I had ALL the answers.

That is a good plan, Lin. I just need to work on the execution, as you noted. Seems there are some of these kinds of clips on Ebay but they’re asking at least $20. No sale here.

  • Frank says:

    Dear CG:

To get more free EZ Combs than you can ever use in a normal lifetime, you must think like a business marketing person. I have just come from their website (which I got by Googling EZ Comb) where they replay the whole commercial for you. But getting back to my point – merely write them a letter stating who you are (THEE Cardiogirl – major player on the internet – thousands have visited your website – Converse low tops are back in style because of you, blah, blah, blah. – For the closer, you say you will feature your famous hair wearing a fabulous EZ Comb on your fabulously popular website.
Send the letter and sit back comfortably knowing your FREE EZ Combs are on the way.
And if that works, you need to send a letter to Converse telling them how you have increased sales of EZ Combs – sit back and the Chucks will come flying in.

Do you think Paris Hilton pays for her EZ Combs ? Market your celebrity status.

You know Frank, I would think simply saying that I am thee Cardiogirl would be enough to open doors as well. But somehow it hasn’t really panned out yet. Go figure.

And I have to say I am actually concerned that Converse will tell me to cease and desist sooner or later since I am probably using trademarked photos. Shhh, don’t tell them about that.

  • bluesleepy says:

Hahaha, oh CG — how I love thee. I do believe one of my friends owns one of these gems, only she bought hers from a mall! It probably isn’t a true EZ Comb, but instead a knock-off of some kind. I am planning on going to the mall today, as nothing else (save Home Depot) is open, and we were snowbound yesterday. I will keep my eyes peeled! If you direct message me on Twitter, I will get it on my cell phone as a text — so let me know what color you would like!

Hey blue, I’m sure it’s too late and you are back at home snuggled under a blanket by now. But I really appreciate the offer! Part of me actually wants to see if I will get a free sample. It never hurts to ask, I say.

  • Michelle says:

I am intrigued about these as well. I frequently wear my hair in a pony tail, and like yours, it is super thick. I am never able to find barrettes that can hold all my hair at once, so I use those thick goody elastics. I would love to have something a bit more stylish. We have one of those “As seen on TV” stores at our mall. I will look for it next time I am there!

According to the site, these are not sold in stores. Yet. But I will be interested in hearing if you find one at the As seen on TV store. If you do, let me know. More importantly, if you get one let me know how it works!

  • Les says:

Now I want one, too, but that’s only in memory of the hair I no longer have. Which was too much. If I’d had an EZ comb or two, though, I might have kept the long hair.

You ALMOST made me buy these, even before you got to review them in person…. but then I remember that my Tweeze died. Apparently, the Tweeze was not designed for female Hobbits.

Hey are you bald again? (Gasps) Oh Les. Your Tweeze died. For real? This pains me greatly as mine has been going strong for close to two years now. (mumbles) And between you and me I think I got some of Big Foot’s genes thrown in the mix, which trumps Hobbit status any day of the week. I’m so disappointed that the Tweeze let you down.

  • Heather says:

Convenience, the American way and I’m all for it. I am seriously pondering the Tweeze now all because of you Cardio Girl. Add the EZ comb on top, I wonder if we could all start bombarding them with emails requesting them to let you review their product? Hang on CG they ( the powers that be at EZ Comb) will see the light, I’m crossing my fingers and toes!

Don’t those combs look enticing?! As you have probably discovered, I am behind the Tweeze 100%. Just mowed down some residual arm pit follicles today, as a matter of fact. I truly love the Tweeze and endorse it (free of charge) heartily. Do yourself a favor and spend the $20. You won’t be sorry Heather. Although Les said hers died.

(whispers) But she’s from Canada and maybe her Canadian batteries jacked her Tweeze up.

  • Andrea says:

The “powers that be” would like to contact you to get you your own EZ Combs. It’s truly a fabulous item. Let me know how to reach you.

Be still my heart. I am actually having heart palpitations right now — I am not joking. I do startle easily, however.

This is so incredibly exciting; you have actually made my year. I am just 12 hours into the New Year and I think I’ve hit the high. Thank you!

  • Angela says:

Wow. I’m seriously impressed by your ability to procure items for free. [Bowing in awe of Cardiogirl's celeb status.]

But just FYI..they actually sell these on eBay. They’re also called African Butterfly Clips. I bought one at a craft fair for $20 (outrageous, I know, but I really loved it). The clips are as great as they appear to be, seriously. Worth the money.

(laughs) Until I have that item in my hair I ask that all folks refrain from bowing.

I’ve been scouring the net and I also have discovered this item called the African Butterfly. Also there’s a Long Hair Forum out there. Did you know this? My hair is longish, but a couple of inches above BSL. (That’s a little lingo from their bulletin board and I like it!) Anyway, those folks are question the EZ Combs as well, no one has tried it yet.

But I shall take your word that this item, in most inceptions, is truly an incredible invention and I look forward to the day I can stand up proudly and exclaim, “EZ Combs I love you!” (because right now I just think I love them based on what I’ve seen.)

  • OMG! Are they really sending you an EZ COMB??? That is so freaking cool. I wasn’t sold until you relayed your tale of the updo and claw clip. I, too, rely on a claw clip for my updo, but it doesn’t even work, because I have too much hair. Will EZ Comb work for me? Oh, I hope so!!!

(takes a deep breath) YES!!! YES!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? HOW AWESOME IS THAT?

I’m sorry for the outburst. That was uncalled for. Yes, indeed. It turns out the powers that be found little old me!! Again, I apologize for the screaming. I am so jacked I cannot wait to receive my EZ Combs. And for sure I will write about my experience and my deepening love for the hair product known as the EZ Comb.

  • Lynnie says:

Cardiogirl and readers, don’t buy EZCombs from Telebrands. When you place the standard order over the phone after a TV ad, there is no real person, only an automated attendant, who keeps you on the phone forever trying to get you to buy their “casual” or “evening” collection for “$7.99 including shipping”, and several other products. I kept saying “no” to all the offers, but stayed on the phone because I wanted to get the total amount I was being charged, so that I could make sure there were no hidden charges. The total never came. I should have been suspicious at that point. I finally received my email confirmation 10 days later, but that email had no amount noted either. When I checked my credit card balance I saw I had been charged $51, when I was expecting it to be $24.00. When I called to ask why, I was told I had ordered the “evening collection” for $23.95. I said I had not ordered that product, and that it had been offered for $7.99. The CSR gave me a hard time about returning it, saying she could not take it back once it had been shipped. Finally, after I pressed really hard, she agreed to take it back. Sometime later, I will write again to this website to tell you whether or not I got the full refund she promised.

Oh Lynnie. No, say it isn’t so. I wonder if it would have been any different if you had ordered off their website and could have actually clicked on the no button for the other offers. Usually when I buy stuff online there’s a total before you give that final click to accept the offer.

What a massive drag. But I must ask, did you get the combs and what did you think of those?

  • Alan says:

hmmm. It would never have occurred to me to make my plea to a company in a blog post. Do post a follow up and let us know if you hear back from them.

Hey Alan, my bouncer Akismet does not seem to like your information. This is the second time he wouldn’t let you in the VIP Lounge. I’m going to dock his pay for that.

I did! I did hear from the company and my combs will be sent out next week! You *know* I’ll be writing about the receipt and subsequent testing. I’m so excited I can’t wait!

  • Cate Subrosa says:

“My heart is jumping for joy. But reality is harshing my mellow.” :D

Oh Cardiogirl, if only you knew how many similar inventions I have tested in an attempt to get the look but not the discomfort when sitting or lying that comes with the claw grip. Nothing is ever quite right, there are always bits that dig in or fall out. I can’t wait to hear how you get on with this one.

It’s a tall order but I do have faith, Cate.

  • Wendy says:

Oh, GREAT. One more thing I HAVE to have now! I will wait to see how it works for you first, though!

Doesn’t it look dazzling, Wendy? I absolutely cannot wait to experience the EZ Combs. Certainly I will report back!

  • Heidi L. says:

I have a solution–short hair! Then you can always rest it flat on any surface. ;)

Heidi, Heidi. That’s no fun! Plus when I exercise my hair gets uh, sorta gross what with the sweating and all. I don’t even want to imagine what it would look like if it were short (shudders).

  • Winsome says:

Hi. I too had the same experience by phone. I still do not have a total. They kept me on the phone offering other items even emerald jewelry. Each time I said NO the reply was I did not hear that. I don’t know what I have ordered and when I went to check the get order status I was advised that after 5 days it had reached its destination. It has not arrived at its destination and it was in the middle of the holidays. everything is very vague. I have mailed it to a friend in Florida and she has not received it. they told me it would take 3 – 6 weeks but it is supposed to have arrived in 5 days. Something is smelly here.

Well that’s disappointing Winsome. I hope it arrives sooner than later and the product lives up to your expectations.

  • Lynnie says:

Cardiogirl, my order arrived Saturday (you will remember I had the problem with the $51 debit for product I did not order) and after trying out my new combs….well, I’m considering keeping them all, even the illegit ones I didn’t order. The combs are as attractive as in the TV ad–and equally important for those of us of the working-class persuasion–quick and easy to pop in each morning before heading to the office. So for about $8 apiece, I’m thinking they are probably worth the money.

Because they are light, I’m hoping they will not cause the headaches I often get with the heavier hair tools I use. I’m also wondering if my babyfine hair will be able to hold them in all day. I’ll let you know on these and other questions after another few weeks of testing.

I’ll be looking forward to hearing how you and your readers like yours, Cardio–thanks for starting this dialogue.

YES! I’m so glad to hear that initial testing has gone well. It will be interesting to compare results as I have kind of thick hair. I can’t wait to check out the DVD, did you receive that and was it helpful?

p.s. Thank you for indulging my insane curiosity, Lynnie.

  • Sarah says:

Cardiogirl, I received these EZ Combs in my Christmas stocking from my husband who always gives me a hard time about the length of time it takes to fix my hair. I have to say I was a bit skeptical at first but with a few tries I really liked the look and hold these clips achieved. I am wearing them more and more.

I received the silver, brown, and black combs with the DVD. The DVD was definitely a good way to start out experimenting with different styles.

I have also placed an order with hairzing.com. They offer basically the same product with much more color and size options. Also, their website has step by step video clips of different styles to wear.

I am looking forward to see how you and everyone else likes these accessories.

Hi Sarah! This is so exciting! You are the second person (who left a comment) to say she is using them and likes them! I seriously cannot wait to receive mine. I went a-Googling as well and found hairzing.com. Those look a tad different in that it seems you can pull your ponytail through the center of their clip and then their video says to twist the clip either a half turn or a quarter turn and then push the comb in.

Are the EZ Combs like that? It doesn’t look like they have a space in the center and it also doesn’t seem like you’re supposed to twist the combs, either. But I’ll know more later (smiles wide). Thanks for the information!

  • Sarah says:

I actually have mine up in a butterfly ponytail with the EZ Comb as I am writing this reply. I just put my hand through the center of the EZ Comb – This is shown in the DVD as well.

I took a picture and posted it on my old blog. It’s not the greatest picture; I took it with my cell phone. If you are curious check it out.

    http://www.twolittles.com

I saw your picture and I am impressed with the quality and angle, seeing as you used your camera phone to photograph the back of your head! Also the ponytail looks so cute! Exactly what I’m looking for. I am extra excited now!

Do the bungee bands feel sturdy? My fear is that I will break the cords by twisting and pulling them. Also, I spent some significant time at the hairzing website and watched all of the videos. Those chicks seem to really twist and pull them without breaking them, so that’s a good sign. But those chicks also need to trim their nails. They’re too long and it’s distracting to me as I watch the chick create the butterfly peacock look.

Thank you so much for indulging my curiosity, Sarah.

  • Jessi says:

Ooo, those look really cool. I hope they ship you one to try out. I’d love to hear about if they’re really good or not.

Hi Jessi! My EZ Combs are on their way for free! And rest assured I will be giving them a solid testing and will be posting my results in depth. And my documentation will be supported with many photos. I can’t wait!

  • rose says:

i have ordered EZ combs online after seeing the TV ad and after going through the reviews. I am just waiting to receive my order. I just got an email saying that the order has been processed. So do any of you know how long do they take to ship the package?

Mine took about five days to arrive, but it was well worth the wait. I think you’re going to be very happy once your combs arrive.

  • Nora says:

I got ripped off also. I placed an order for what I thought was $10 plus 6.99 shipping. The end invoice was for $71 dollars with no order number and no way to stop it. How do I get to a LIVE person on this ripoff? I am going to protest the charge with my bank. Any other idea’s.

That’s discouraging to hear Nora. Did you order on the phone or through the website? Someone else had this same experience and she had called the 800 number. She also was not able to speak to an actual person as the phone system was all automated.

I would send a letter to the company or attempt to email the company through the site. Maybe your bank or credit card company could help you with that. I’m sorry to hear the experience was so bad.

  • [...] I wrote about my initial brush with the EZ Combs™ in this previous post and the powers that be contacted me. And the joy that is the EZ Comb arrived on Friday last week. [...]

  • SueZQ says:

I ordered my ezcombs online, a few days ago, and was charged $47 for the original three and one set of the casual. I haven’t received a confirmation on my order yet so I have no idea how long it will take to get them. I sure hope it is worth the wait.

That’s very discouraging to hear, SueZQ. I thought there were $16.99 for three combs plus the DVD. I do really like the combs and how they work, I hope you enjoy them as well.

  • Michelle says:

Wow, I was really thinking about ordering these, but have read some horrible things. I will have to wait until you review them, before I place my order. They look cute, I tried one in my hair at a Christmas show, and it did hold my hair really well, but was $30 so I didn’t get one.

I did review it and they are working really well for me, though it seems a lot of people are having trouble ordering them either over the phone or via the website.

  • rose says:

its 3 weeks since i placed an order on ezcombs. i haven’t received them. do they take 6 weeks to ship them. i just can’t wait to get them. how do they ship it?

Hi Rose, I don’t have any idea how long it takes to ship. I don’t actually work for that company, I just received the combs to try out.

I think it only took about a week for mine to arrive. Good luck.

  • Angel says:

Hi. I found your site because I was looking for a cheaper price on EZ Combs. I placed an order online in early December and I accidentally ordered 2 sets. I called customer service and he was really nice, they deleted my order and placed a new one. They take 3-6 wks to receive. I got mine late last week. I gave Grandma (she was the one who discovered the infomercial) the black and I have the silveer & brown. I LOVE it!! It is sooo pretty in my thick hair. I want more colors but am waiting for cheaper prices. Grandma loves hers so much that she placed another online order with them. I suggest you order online, not the phone.

It does seem like online ordering is the way to go. So far I don’t think I’ve had anyone come back to give their opinion once they’ve actually used one. And I have to say I’m impressed that your grandma is wearing them. Way to go Grandma! Thanks for stopping by Angel!

  • Angel says:

OH I forgot to add that yesterday I wore mine to the gym. No problems whatsoever! I laid down on the machines & also did cardio and the combs didn’t bulge one bit. I am very satisfied with it because I am always breaking claw clips. My only concern is the teeth of the comb are bendable. I guess that’s good for comfort but I’m worried a tooth will break off one day.

It is great at the gym, isn’t it? Funny you mention the teeth of the comb. I’m concerned about the clear bungees. So far so good, though.

  • Jaclyn Scandariato says:

Hi I am AJ Khbani’s publicist and I’d be happy to send you the EZ Combs if you haven’t already gotten your hands one. Please let me know and i’ll get one out to you!

    Jaclyn Scandariato
    201-843-5600

Wow, hi Jaclyn! I did receive a free set of combs and I absolutely love them! I also reviewed them ( http://www.cardiogirl.net/?p=986 ) and shared the love with all of my female readers. They really have been a great addition to my hair supplies. Thanks again!

  • Brina says:

I ordered the EZ combs and love them. They hold my thick hispanic hair just fine. Just today they have them in Walgreens in AS SEEN ON TV area. Yeah, now I can buy for my sisters for their birthdays!

I thought they would eventually show up in stores somewhere. I like the idea of referring to my hair in an ethnic way. I have sturdy Polish hair. And I always imagine a Polish chick out in the fields with huge meaty hands. I know it’s a stereotype, but I actually kinda like it.

  • Whitney says:

I got them at Walgreen’s and I love them. It takes a while to get the hang of it, but they are awesome. Awesome! I’m going back to get the other two colors.

I have thick thick hair and usually break and lose hairties. These are just aweXsome.

GO TO WALGREENS AND GET THEM!!!

I think I need to head on over the Walgreen’s to check this out. I do so love to touch and feel the product beforehand. Even though I already have mine and love them immensely. I’m so glad they’re working out for you. They are a little tricky to start with. But now it’s second nature and I can do it without thinking.

  • cattte says:

Here’s the real drag….I ordered the EZcomb “evening” and the receipt was very confusing.
And then they offer you other things, so I clicked on one of them, a hair dye applicator.
But you cannot order it when you are ordering the EZComb so you are charged more shipping and handling than that’s worth…
I tried to email them AND track my order but to no avail…no email for them.
The order tracking website they say to go to doesn’t even work. here it is, if it works for anyone let me know….

“For your convenience you can now track your order status on-line by visiting http://www.GetOrderStatus.com. To get your tracking information, just enter 973 227 8777 in the area designated as Customer Service Phone Number, AND enter Your Phone Number or your Zip Code and Last Name.”

Now I’m really worried. It works not..

    here’s my curious receipt:

    Thank you for your order.
Your order is complete and will now be processed.
Please allow 3-6 weeks for delivery.
A summary of your order is below.
    Quantity Description Price Extended Price
    1 EZ Comb – Evening Collection $29.97 $29.97
    Subtotal $29.97
    S & H $3.99
    Total $33.96
In California and New Jersey, applicable sales tax may apply.
    To mail us your order:
If you wish to order by sending in a check or money order, please send
    a total of $23.98 (that’s $10 + $13.98 s&h). Send Check or Money order to:

    EZ Combs, Dept.IECWEBMAIL
    One TeleBrands Plaza
    Fairfield, NJ 07004

So it’s 33.96 if you order on line and 23.98 if you order by mail? What?
    That’s what the receipt said…..
then my second receipt was worse..follows:

    “Thank you for your order.
Your order is complete and will now be processed.
Please allow 3-6 weeks for delivery.
A summary of your order is below.
    Quantity Description Price Extended Price
1 EZ Comb Hair Dye Applicator $10.00 $10.00
    Subtotal $10.00
    S & H $5.99
    Total $15.99
In California and New Jersey, applicable sales tax may apply.” I ordered it and then looked at the shipping…WOW!

This hair dye bottle is just made of light weight plastic, like a travel bottle for airplanes.. it’s no big whoop…it’s cost is ten dollars and the shipping is 6? Give me a break!

But I thought well, I do my hair a lot maybe it will be helpful… but this better be an amazing bottle…cause who would spend the money it takes to send it back there to New Jersey if it’s crap? No one.

I tried over and over to order the two things together …the website just won’t let you do it…
Now after reading your site I see they have other iffy shade ways of getting your money….I.E. shipping/ handling restocking/ returns…ect…
I’d rather they just say everything is ala carte…..!

I thought at least if you buy one thing, you may get a better deal if you bought more products from them..but nope!
It’s very frustrating when you do a lot of business on the web to run into such an archaic site…..wish I had done more searching for sites like yours first ..
I did search for the product many other ways but came up with very few alternatives….most of them lead back to the original company to be honest…frustrating. I would have even preferred EBay…but found nothing…

These will have to be miracle products for me to go back to them.
I will look for this product everywhere else rather than go back to them.
It was a birthday gift that sounded perfect but I just hated the experience…..
    Sincerely waiting for your review…
    Your pal,
    Catte Adams

Yikes Catte. That does sound like a massive drag. If you ever are able to send them back and retrieve your money, they are now available at Walgreen’s. That sounds like the best method of purchase. My actual review of the product is here http://www.cardiogirl.net/?p=986 (and I really like them).

Hey there.. I just wanted to let you know that these are on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond, where you get two in a box for 9.99.. The beauty here is that they are the exact same thing (same brand and everything) and you don’t have to go through some sleezy company’s phone or online ordering scam, or put up with paying shipping.. AND.. you can return them if you don’t like them.. So I think if you say they are worth getting, then I’ll get mine that way.

    • cardiogirl says:

I definitely prefer buying stuff from a store with the option of returning. I also enjoy the instant gratification. I have such a hard time waiting for anything to get here through the mail.

      • Kim says:

You’ve had these for a while.. do you still like them? Have they held up well? Is there an update on your blog somewhere that I’ve missed?

I find these things so interesting!

        • cardiogirl says:

I do still like them. I did give an update on the combs, but I’ll give you the quick run down. I still love them, however, the brown one has lost some beads on the comb and one bungee has broken. I can still use it, but I do so with trepidation and I carry a rubber band with me when I do wear it.

The white one, on the other hand, is going strong and I still enjoy that one thoroughly.

    Dear customer service representative,
I placed an order several weeks ago for two sets of EZ combs as advertized for $10.00 PER SET PLUS $6.99 FOR SHIPPING & HANDLING. I never received a confirmation # & I’m wondering what the status is on these since I’m still interested in receiving them? Please advise?~~~~~~~Yours Truly, Claudette Lapointe

    • cardiogirl says:

      Hi Claudette,

I am not a CSR for EZ combs. Just a blogger who enjoys the product.

Perhaps you could contact the site directly or call the 800 number on their site. Good luck!

  • Michelle says:

How long is the shipping for the EZ comb?

    • cardiogirl says:

Mine arrived in about a week, but I have heard others say it took up to six weeks. That’s why most people are buying them at Walgreen’s, now that they’re in the store. Good luck!

  • aunt bobbie says:

I sure would like to comment on these combs as I ordered 02/23/09 and still have not received them. Tried tracking order and site is unavailable. Tried phone # and forget it. Does anyone know how to find out delivery status.

    • cardiogirl says:

Hi aunt bobbie. Hmm, I don’t work for EZ Combs I just reviewed the product but I can see how frustrating that would be. I don’t have any kind of contact information. My suggestion would be to buy them at Walgreen’s and perhaps return the box when/if it arrives in the mail. However, that doesn’t solve the issue of getting your money back.

      Good luck.

  • Dani says:

DO NOT ORDER E Z COMBS OVER THE PHONE. I did, had a long, vexing “conversation” with an automated voice, then 6 weeks later received the merchandise advertised at $18 for $44. What a rip off. When I called the company and complained, I was offered rebates, which I declined, then was told if I’d mail them back, my money would be refunded. Suffice it to say I’m still fighting with E Z Comb to get my money back. This is a disreputable company and I don’t care if they have a good product, they misrepresented the price, grossly overcharged me, and then refused to fix the problem. I will think twice before ordering over the phone again.

    • cardiogirl says:

The over-the-phone ordering seems to really be sticky and fraught with problems. You are definitely not the only one to go through that song and dance.

I hope you have better luck getting your full refund back. However, if you still want them, they’re all over Walgreen’s for $9.99. That is, if you’re not too soured on the experience.

I purchased these combs over phone thru their “robots”, who u cannot ask questions regarding clarity of what they are saying about charges. So what I understood as $10.00 for 1st set plus 6.95 shipping, 2nd and 3rd set 10.00 each free shipping and handling, totalling $36.95, ended up on my charge card as $62.77. I tried numerous times to call and get this overcharge cleared up, but calling 1-800-777-4034 and pushing #4 for combs, ended up hanging up on me 10 plus times over 4 weeks and finally today I pushed #1 for some pet product and got a person who said it was over 30 days so basically I was stuck paying $25.82 more than what I expedcted to pay. Asked for manager, he, Jack said basically tough, too late over 30 days, but didnt think that meant for overcharging for product. Be careful, on ordering anything thru “robots”, and especially from this company. I like the product and had no problem paying the charges I understood as $36.95, but no way are these combs worth $62.77, when you can purchase them at walgreens or bed, bath and beyond for $9.99 for three. I paid more than double for mine with the “tip” they charged me, that i did not know about. Combs good, company and workers, VERY DECEIVING and RUDE. Rip Off. Buy your products in stores, so u know exactly what your charges will be and can return free.

I got some EZ Combs today and they all broke – that elastic is a joke. I have beads everywhere now and I didn’t even pull on them very hard.

    • cardiogirl says:

That’s disappointing, Nicole. Did you buy them from Walgreen’s? If so, maybe you can return them.

  • Aaron says:

I work as a loader in the city market in Charleston, and one of my vendors sells a product which is similar to the EZComb… but much sturdier and way better looking. He keeps an EZComb in his booth so people can compare the two. Definitely worth the extra money for a superior product, in my opinion. I mean, do you want something that’s going to fall apart as soon as you open the box, or something that will last? Check out bungeecomb.com, even though the website is crap, the product is great. I’m planning to build a better website for him, the one he has now is rudimentary at best.
