All I want for Christmas is a big ass coffee cup and a new watch
Now that we’re officially into December I’m ready to share my Christmas list with you. Hey, before we get into it, do you wish big for Christmas or are you realistic? I’m thrifty realistic.
I’d like this snazzy coffee mug but I don’t know how large it actually is. I can’t find specs and I need to know that I’m going to get 12 ounces, minimum, of java every time I fill it.
I am an elitist and I actively shun traditional coffee cups. The flaw in this plan is that I only have two cups that will work. They came as a his and hers set but Mr. C is refined and he won’t drink out of his — that’s why I have two cups. They’re from Starbucks and they are huge. I did do a test a while ago and each one holds 16 ounces.
That was a shock, but I like my coffee. In fact, I’m drinking out of the trough right now, she said as she paused to take a sip.
So if that cup is large enough, it’s on my list.

I also want a new watch and since I do the Christmas shopping mine is on the way from Amazon. It’s purple (my favorite color) and it’s indiglo. I do love the indiglo watches.
And my MIL is giving us the best gift of all. She and my FIL are providing a free night’s stay at a local hotel and they’re watching our kids. That was our Christmas gift last year and it was awesome.
Of course I wanted to leave on Saturday morning at 6 and return on Sunday night at 10, but that didn’t quite pan out.
One day I would like to spend enough time alone with Mr. C that we actually get tired of each other.
Beyond that, I’m stretchin’.
I have a lot of Converse low tops. I do love them but I think I’m good for now. Some day I’m going to take a picture of my collection and share the story of each pair, but I have roughly 13 pairs in varying states of wear and tear. And those kicks don’t come cheap.
I’m not into re-reading books or re-watching movies so those are no good. I’m persnickety about clothes so I’m leery of someone else picking them out for me. We went over the shoes and I don’t like jewelery.
We have a membership to the Y and I have workout clothes and shoes. More importantly, my mp3 player is going strong.
Side note: I think mp3 players are going the way of the horse drawn carriage, but I have a question about batteries. Mine takes one AA battery and I like that very much. But we’ve been through a couple mp3 players for my kids and those use a cord to charge from the computer. Two thumbs down, jack.
When I go to the Y I keep an extra AA battery on my person so I can change it if/when the battery dies.
And yes, I’ve had to use the back-up battery on more than one occasion and that is when I mutter, “Take that betch,” as I replace it. I will not get caught on the elliptical machine without music. Anyway, back to the question. Do they still make mp3 players that take traditional batteries? I’ve done a cursory search and I’m not seeing anything.
Back to the action. This is a stretch, but I’ve always thought a cooking class might be interesting.
(Coughs and sputters.) Those classes are pricey and I can follow directions so I think I’ll stick with Allrecipes.
Oh! I forgot. I do want the Phineas and Ferb Enhanced Soundtrack. I don’t know what the enhanced version gets you, but if someone else is buying it, I want the best. I can’t wait to exercise to Ain’t Got Rhythm. (Pssst. If Santa doesn’t deliver I’ll burn you a copy, Soonerchick.)
So what do you want for Christmas and don’t tell me world peace, alright? And unless it’s free, you’re not getting it from me.
