My favorite name brands by Cardiogirl
There’s a new kid on the web and his name is SocialSpark.com. This site is sort of like a hybrid of sponsored posts and social networking with a side of good buzz thrown in.
At the moment, there’s not a lot of brand names to write about since the site is young, relatively speaking. But SocialSpark is interested in knowing what brands we bloggers want to write about.
So I thought it would be fun to answer this in the style of a Meme. I’ll recount a normal day in the life of Cardiogirl, which in turn will answer the question of what name brands I use most often and, therefore, would like to see at SocialSpark.
I bring to you this limited run meme — Cardiogirl’s Favorite Name Brands Meme.
I’m a very early riser — usually up by 5 am — and as soon as I walk into the kitchen I start the coffee. I’ve written about my intense love of coffee. And cream. It’s the glue that holds me together. My day (and Mr. C’s) will suffer greatly if I do not have pure cream for my coffee. This is so important that I keep a stockpile of three to four half gallon containers of Land O Lakes Traditional Half and Half in the refrigerator in my basement. I shall not want for a good cup of coffee.
It should go without saying that coffee is top on my list. I like Costco’s Kirkland brand of 100% Columbian Coffee. No decaf for this girl.
Next I eat a bowl of cereal. I love Kellogg’s All-Bran Yogurt Bites. Just enough sweetness to make the bran go down, a few crunchy yogurt bites in each spoonful to shake things up. And they’re not kidding when they say it provides 40% of the daily recommended amount of fiber. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Perhaps Kellogg’s should consider teaming up with Charmin Ultra. Now that would be an advertising coup.
If I’m on schedule, the girls and I head over to the YMCA so I can get my work out in. (They don’t call me Cardiogirl for nothing, you know.) I don’t leave the house without my 1-liter bottle of Evian water. Yes, I usually go through the full bottle during my workout and then I have to refill the bottle at the water fountain for my stint in the sauna. But at least I’m fulfilling my daily requirement of eight glasses of water, right?
As we run errands throughout the day I make sure I have a few ZonePerfect All-Natural Nutrition bars in my diaper bag. My girls love them because they taste like a candy bar and I love them because each one has at least 16 grams of protein. It’s the perfect snack in between meals to satisfy your sweet tooth while making you feel full for roughly three hours.
As anyone with children knows, the hour before dinner time can get a little dicey, but I find Nickelodean seems to air at least one half hour block, sometimes an hour, of SpongeBob SquarePants. Who doesn’t love Patrick and Plankton? And if regular programming isn’t cooperating, we have plenty of SpongeBob episodes on DVD.
If it’s a really good day, Mr. C is home right on time and I have a chance to slip out by myself. Once in a blue moon — when I am out alone — I like to indulge in a Java Chip Frappuccino from Starbucks. I do this only when I am alone so I do not have to share with my children. What can I say? I’m a last-born. I always had to share. And I don’t like sharing.
As the day winds down and the kids are tucked into bed, I find watching Discovery Health helps me to wind down and relax. Well, that and the Lunesta sleeping pill I take each night.
