And the award goes to…

groovy low top

Unlike the Oscars or the Grammys, these awards do not require a tuxedo or a designer dress. No need to slip into an uncomfortable pair of high heels and suck in your stomach. Just let it all hang out and let’s go Cardio-style. Hop into a comfy pair of low tops and turn on the telly, we’re going to watch an award show.

Thank you to Liz at Little Pink House who awarded me the Classy Blogger Award. Thanks woman! And now I am charged with picking three other classy bloggers.

Where the Walls are Soft This broad is just that — a broad and I love her. She’s super cool and she writes about Ruby’s stories (memories from her landlord who refuses to be photographed or caricatured on the evil internet.) Ruby’s stories are going to write a book themselves whether Les puts them together or not.

Property of Kelly This chick is such a talented artist. Most of her posts are doodles — those are her words — but I think they are awesome works of art. Sometimes she shows them in black and white first and then how she colorized them using Photoshop, I think. She’s awesome.

Of Books and Boys
Wendy used to be a commenter whose blog I wanted to read. But she didn’t have one. Now she does! And she has incredible stories. Sometimes she writes book reviews, sometimes she writes about her boys and every once in a while she’ll tell you how she just happened to have tea at Buckingham Palace in a very “oh-yeah” kind of way. I like her.

p.s. Now that I have the label of “Classy” I have to share an experience from yesterday that shows just how “Klassy-with-a-K” I am. Yesterday, as you know, was Ash Wednesday. We are Catholic. Our kids attend a Catholic school complete with uniforms. So I had to take Katie to the dentist yesterday morning after Mass at 10:30. So far, so good.

So I picked her up and saw the ashes on her forehead and thought, ‘Well, at least my kid is being a good Catholic since I’m having some spiritual issues right now and will not be attending Mass today.’

She did great, we went to lunch at Burger King after and I sent her back to school with her left over chicken nuggets for the afternoon snack. On Ash Wednesday. Yup, I sent my kid back to Catholic school, on Ash Wednesday, with meat in her lunch. ‘Cause I’m Klassy.

Moving on.

Quite a few months ago, Just a Mom (also known as jam) gave me the Daily Dose Award. And like a loser, I clicked on over, said thank you and promptly forgot all about this.

The Daily Does Award is for “all the blogs that you’ve discovered that you can’t possibly live without. They make you laugh, cry, think and feel connected every time you read a post. They give you a thrill as you see them loading into your browser and you get an equally satisfying thrill when you see that they have commented on your blog.”

Gosh jam, you are much too kind to me. Thank you.

Candle at Both Ends I found this woman, lost her and found her again. Now she’s in my Google Reader, never to be misplaced.

Ramblings of a Madman He’s intertwining his story of love and loss with every day life and a totally awesome third of the month commenter created story. He creates a story using one comment from everyone who commented the previous month. This month’s (January 3) was incredible!

Bluesleepy I love my Bluesleepy. And she is with child! Yes she is! Yay blue! Yay! See Dick run. See Cardiogirl jump. Cardiogirl jumps up and down because Blue is with child. Yay! Love her, check her out.

There you go. That’s what I got. Carry on.
